Specifically, our mission is exactly the one that Jesus Christ gave his followers 2000 years ago: to help people become disciples of Jesus.
What is a disciple of Jesus Christ? The word disciple points to someone who is a follower or a learner. Being a disciple of Jesus Christ, means that we have committed our lives to follow him as we learn to obey him in every area of our lives.
We believe that these 4 characteristics will be increasing in every believer:
Love – John 13:34-35
God is love. As you experience the love of God in your own life, you will find that it is natural to obey the greatest commandment: to love God with all your heart, soul and mind.
As your heart is filled with love, you will find that the love of God in you spills out to others. In John 13:34-35, Jesus said that people will know that you are his disciples if you have love for one another. The love of God in you can transform every relationship you have, because it will transform you!
Grow – 2 Peter 3:18
When you come to know God personally, you begin a process of transformation that will last your entire life. You will experience change in your character, your words, your actions, and your attitudes. Growing in God’s wisdom, power and love is one of the most exciting journeys a person can take.
Serve – 1 Peter 4:10-11
Jesus consistently taught his disciples that the path to greatness in the kingdom of God was learning to become the servant of all. You will learn the joy of putting others before yourself and working to further the kingdom of God!
Share – Matthew 5:13-16; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 9:19-27
Jesus called us the light of the world, he told us that we would be his witnesses through the power of the Holy Spirit. We want to demonstrate his love and share the truth of his good news with everyone we can.
