ON MISSION. After the resurrection, Jesus unveiled a mission for the Church. “Go and make disciples of all nations.” We know this is as the Great Commission — the job Jesus gave us. Jesus empowers his people to go and make disciples in every nation. To follow Jesus is to be ON MISSION with him, making disciples in our neighborhoods, in our community, and in every nation! Beginning April 11, we will hear from our missionary partners around the world. We will be challenged to find our role in the fulfilling the Great Commission — doing the job Jesus gave us. Let’s embrace the call to live ON MISSION together as a church family.
TAKE HEART. We know this has been a difficult year — for some, heartbreaking. Easter is a time to find encouragement and hope at the empty tomb of Jesus Christ — He Lives! His words fill us with courage and confidence: "In this world y ou will have trouble, but TAKE HEART, I have overcome the world." John 16:33
The Book of Daniel. God is still in control. It can be hard to believe this when we watch the news around us, but he is still on the throne. We see this important theme in the book of Daniel. Young men are taken away to be indoctrinated by the king who will utterly destroy their home. God’s people are thrown into a fiery furnace and a lion’s den. We see visions of horrifying beasts rising out of the ocean. Those were scary days….like today. And so we learn how to trust the One who is in control, we learn to live by faith in hostile territory, and we learn to thrive in the darkest of days. Keep Calm - God is still in control..
