In this teaching series beginning June 14, we will explore faith as we travel through stories in the book of Acts. We will look at unforgettable stories and encounters of the early church — the conversion of Saul, Peter’s visit to Cornelius, Paul’s teaching at Mars Hill, and a crazy sea voyage to Rome. These stories inform our belief and shape our faith. One day we will stand before the Lord in glory and our faith will be made sight, until then, we are on a journey of faith — and we travel one step at a time.
In Luke 14-15, we catch a glimpse of the welcoming heart of God. We look at the stories of: Jesus sharing a meal in the home of a Pharisee; searching for a lost sheep; a lost coin; and a lost son. This is God’s heart toward people — welcoming, inviting, searching, and celebrating. As we live with “Generous Hospitality”, we extend God's heart and passion to people.
We are called to follow Jesus in community, as a body, as his church. Life is better when we live in community with God’s people. We open 2020 with a renewed commitment to live together as God’s people, making disciples until the Lord returns.
